The cover art for a new single, album, compilation or DJ mix is an important visual component of a music release. This is the first thing that fans and potential listeners see. The attention to the release will translate into profits, part of which musicians receive from the sale of their music in stores and on digital platforms.
Types of music release covers
Digital
The most common type today. The digital cover serves as a visual design for the musician’s Internet representation, as well as in services that distribute digital audio.
CD box
A classic type of printed cover consists of a front part and a back part.
Digipak
Alternative to standard CD boxes. In this case, the packaging is a two-sided, glued cardboard cover, with a plastic CD tray inside.
